Day 247 Patron Quest

[When Estelle arrives, she will experience sudden disorientation, as if suddenly unfamiliar with being inside her body, perhaps not even knowing why she is there or who she is. It lasts for but a moment and then slowly fades... The world around her seems unusually quiet and gray, as though the color were stolen but there remains just enough to suggest that things have been greatly subdued. Within the gray is an expansive forest of every tree imaginable and dry, brittle grass that extends to mid-calf. Here and there, one might even spot some faded prints left upon the ground. The sky is equally gray, although not one cloud can be seen.

And just in front of her, three thumb-sized seeds rest on a flat white rock.]

I'll go speak with whoever's in the forest.

[and now down through that opening]

[If Estelle were to turn around anytime during her trip, she'd find that the girl had vanished.]

[turns around once to look, then blinks]

Was that the temptation...?

[...shakes her head and continues on.]

[As she nears the opening, she might catch fleeting bits of birdsong, so soft that perhaps she imagined them.]

[stops and looks around]

Hello...?

[There's nothing there. . .]

[...starts walking again...]

[the_last]

[Estelle reaches a small hill that looks like it would be the perfect spot for flowers. Well, it would be were there any sunlight.

But hey, one of the seeds Estelle's holding seems a whole lot brighter now.]

[taking out that seed and looking it over]

Oh? Is this the spot?

[the_last]

[Glowing seed glows.]

[fullmoonblooms]

[taking a closer look at the spot then, holding the seed in her palm in case it reacts somehow]

[the_last]

[The watering can also glows a little too. . .]

[fullmoonblooms]

[...tries watering the ground a little to test it.]

[the_last]

[Where the droplets touch seems to gain slightly more color.]

[sprinkling more water onto the ground to give it more color]

I wonder if the seed is meant to go here...

[Who knows? But it doesn't look like there's anyone else here so she might have to trust her own judgment. :x]

[...takes out the glowing seed.]

There doesn't seem to be any temptation here, and I know you need to be planted in a place where you can be true...I'm trusting you to do your best.

[digs a small hole, drops the seed inside, and then covers it up again]

[After a moment, a tiny seedling appears and the area just around the hill fills with color, although it's more of a flickering sort of color.]

[As she goes, she might feel the faintest touch of warmth, sunlight, upon her. . .]

[blinks and looks up...then smiles]

[Following the path will take her up a sharper incline, the foliage around her getting more gnarled and thorny as she goes. Perhaps part of a thicket. The grounds becomes much rockier. And somewhere, there is a low baying of several hounds.]

[tensing up at the sound and kneeling down, trying to catch sight of whatever hounds may be out there]

[There actually is a hound. A very large hound. Just a few feet in front of her.

It does not look particularly nice.]
